There's definitely a number of designs I've been ambivalent or did not care for over the years but I truly think this is the worst design ever put into the series for any pokemon. I'll even take gen 3/4's ugly plasticy look that plagues a number of pokemon from those gens over this abomination.

I liked all the gameplay additions and conveniences, though I do think they made the game easier. But postgame is there for people who want challenge I guess.I wasn't fully sold on the artstyle before I started playing, but it grew on me after just a couple of minutes. Not sure if it would fit a Explorers remake, though.I just wish they had done changes and additions to the story. The Fugitives arc in particular desperately needed some expansions and adjustments.

With the main story done, Team Grove's final member was successfully recruited after spending a crapton of reviver seeds to get through the dungeon because I didn't expect the level to be that high and didn't know awakening was a thing.

They did the same thing with LGPE (gameplay) and the Diamond and Pearl rehash (both gameplay and story). Only minor additions like evolutions, or being able to catch a bunch of legendaries.
