In the rules department, you can look at http://www.4chan.org/rules - all global and board specific rules are in full effect. Apart from that, only two rules are important.
1. BE EXCELLENT TO EACH OTHER. 2. PARTY ON, DUDES. (AND DUDETTES)

>>92703554 >That their hair cuts are all over the place Is that really outside of the realm for clanners? Really though we have modern tech, we should have book accurate clanners.
On Kali-Yama's Hunchback variants (HBK-5M, HBK-6N, HBK-6S, and HBK-7X), would they have been more successful had they been made into heavier classes (Heavy for the -5M, -6N, and -6S and Assault for the -7X)?
>>92703554 I think the funniest thing is despite being jags they are someone not black and there are no dreads(one on the far right might have them hard to tell). Like they had free reign to do it here.
>>92702758 I'm looking to run a session on a derelict spaceship so I was wondering if there would be identifiable markings left on the surface after 2-3000 years.
>>92702863 Thin paint was likely ablated away, thick superpaint or meter-thick gilding is still intact, if worn, crevices are more intact than outer hull. What condition is it in, was it abandoned perfectly intact, was it disabled via boarding action, is there battle damage?

>>92703744 >>Book Cult of the Illuminated: Want to be to Solars, what Desus was to Lilith. (minus the being killed by Dragon-Blooded part) Doesn't this just result in no Solar player ever wanting to use the 1e/2e version of the cult
>>92703810 In Exalted, if you try doing something fucked up like genociding your own people, a hero will come along to slap you around. IRL you can pretty much get away with that shit with barely a slap on the wrist at worst.
>>92703400 i used to think like you but this thinking doesn't add up anymore. Considering the wealth of modern warfare media from the cold war to the present. Like Bond, Tom Clancy. Its an interesting genre.
>>92703862 probably not besides a warning in a gen. It really bummed me out because i was really keen on the concept and their minis. What little i actually got (btw it came broken because they were super fragile poorly made minis) im going to hold onto out of spite. Was one of two major upsets for me on KS the other being Prodos's AVP which likewise they had zero intention of delivering anything and by sheer luck i was able to find a contact detail to get something delivered many years after
>>92703885 I just ordered their new US SOF and their losing mentions they will include an extra lmg in case one breaks because it’s fragile so I thought they are a good company

>>92703702 NTA, but I find the Indian religions have a fairly good solution to this problem where the dichotomy of good and evil is ultimately determined by karma. Trying to create a perfect understanding of good and evil is impossible, and secular positivism is incomprehensible to me, so best to leave it to higher forces
>>92703738 Also NTA, but Kant actually does this with his categorical imperative, which I find to be one of the most sensible ways of approaching the issue. Sure the subject is relative, but being able to accept the decent views while cutting out bad faith assertions seems for the best
>>92703861 >best to leave it to higher forces This leads to the problem of the "higher forces"'s very existence being called into question (hint: they did not answer), so it's pretty much a big nothing system since its basis (the "higher forces") don't exist. And if the "higher forces" actually exist, they should really have left some irrefutable argument for their morality system that isn't "leave it to us (who may or may not exist) lol".
>>92703889 >This leads to the problem of the "higher forces"'s very existence being called into question To Hindus and Buddhists, this is not an issue as karma is not supposed to be a tangible force, but a fundamental principle of reality derived from the natural law of causation. You seem to be confusing it with something like the Abrahamic god, who manifests in human form.
>>92703837 I don't think they would have interacted very much. The Hyūga are one of the clans that wouldn't like him especially. Unless Inabaanon says Inaba would approach Osamu with an offer of some sort, I don't think he would. That could be an interesting development, but I think he would probably turn him down. It would be risky too, because if he does he would have to tell the higher ups on him.

Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to TSR-era D&D, derived systems, and compatible content.
Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons as played in the game's first decade—less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching meta-plots and a greater emphasis on player agency.
If you are new to the OSR, welcome! Ask us whatever you're curious about: we'll be happy to help you get started.
>>92703752 nta but is the old school primer bad? >>92699490 I've been really wondering about how you might apply an old school logic to arenas of activity other than adventuring and gaining gold and power. partly because I'm working on a domain level campaign that will involve a lot of nonlinear ways to develop the world. partly because I'm curious if OSR can be coherent with a goal other than 'get riches'. get experience/valuable knowledge? a little messy to gamify but it seems doable.
>>92703798 The primer got churned up by the internet and became a meme, and it started to do damage because it became more widely known as a list of parroted catchphrases. Edicts, rather than what it's supposed to be, which is (duh) a primer--something to help modern players get in the ballpark and consider an alternative style, not lay down the rules for This Is Old School. The internet destroys nuance. Many such cases.

>>92703555 >death house doesn't have any enemies in it I'll have to double check the analytics and run the numbers, but I think the stats would agree with you. I'll let you know in a couple of hours once I get my team on it.
friend invited me to a surprise dnd game, rolled up a zerker barb i sack temples for jewels and gold and women. no I will never wash my loincloth or get a new weapon.
>>92703814 I'd play a caster and follow you to cast Prestidigitation on that loincloth to clean it. Since it's s cantrip, I can just misty step away afterwards and escape as fast as possible.
>>92701131 >What reason could a vampire have to cooperate with a mortal human? Part of the story-of-me. I generally have vampires be supreme narcissists, which can make them behave in a magnanimous manner towards mortals if and when it reinforces the image of themselves they've got. For example, if you're fighting a vampire that fancies himself a chivalrous knight, he might withhold certain of his powers when fighting mortals, because that's the 'noble' thing to do.
Just make sure there's a breaking point at which the mask is set aside and the beast underneath comes out. When they get bored, when the story they're telling themselves diverts from its course, or when an enemy is extremely annoying. "Real people" don't suffer pets and props to stymie or frustrate them. And to a vampire, they're the only "real person" that ever was, or ever will be.
>>92703796 love this, well put, saving it. do you think of other iconic monsters in terms of psychological dynamics? there's no reason monsters should correspond that way, but in this case it seems very 'real' and narratively satisfying. I know people like that lol and it'd be really effective to convey how scary they and the vampire are
>>92703830 I mean, not as much as with vampires, I don't. Dracula is a huge influence on what makes a vampire in a way a lot of other iconic monsters don't necessarily have. I guess werewolves, kinda? The idea I go with with them is to take your mundane serial killer or other human predator, and go 'yes, but what if they had a physical manifestation of their inner beast?' Which isn't too far from what your classic legends have, with them being cursed cannibals or Satan-worshiping witches, or both. Physically with them, I trend more towards descriptions of a wolf, sans tail, with troubling human-like characteristics. Something that you could mistake for a regular wolf if you saw it running across the moor at night, but which would make your skin crawl for "some reason" even if you didn't have the knowledge to spot its witch-marks. I do like the idea of weres being 'contagious' to their surviving victims, too.

>>92702660 >>92703015 You used to be able to but now you can't. When they changed blocker timing they made blocking a game action and blocked an ability to take a game action. So now because blocking isn't an effect you can't do as much as you can nor does blocking count as suspending by an effect. Redirects are still effects so you can redirect to yourself
>>92703614 I didn't say blocking is suspending by effect but suspending may have an effect eg the st17 rapidmon as >>92703632 points out or things that have effects while suspended.
you can still block even if the attack is at the same digimon and suspend
>>92703755 No you can't block an attack with the same target if the attack. When it was an effect you could do as much as you can because it's a rule now it has to switch the target. Ask on the judge server or the rules discord
